What are the chances of husband coming home with medical discharge?

Husband is in marine boot camp and he tore an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) on his left knee. I've read this can take weeks of physical therapy to heal after reconstructive surgery. What are the chances of them sending him home? It seems a little too good to be true that they will keep him there and pay him during his recovery.
