Why do the Shia and Sunni Muslims argue over the atrocities attributed to their personal heros...?

This is more corruption, made up stories from the likes of Yazid etc. to come up with how their actions were modeled on the Prophet's. It is garbage lies and why can Muslims not understand how corrupted the sunnah and hadith are when this sort of stuff is presented from it?
