You have every right to ask for a high risk specialist but if your doc has half a brain you shouldn't have to ask at all...she should just know that is what you need. VBAC is more and more common these days thanks to mothers standing up to lazy doctors who thought for a while there that c sections where the new birthing method for the mes. Keep in mind however that sometimes you really ARE posing a risk of serious uterine damage by doing so...only a responsible and well trained will be able to say for sure.
